Meet Our Titles Specialist: Daniel Bacon, Jr.
Daniel Bacon, Jr. is a Titles Specialist, who helps resolve any issues with sellers' title documents. When not at ACV, Daniel enjoys drawing and spending time with his Bacon Bits a.k.a. his kids. He also has a talent that you'd never guess. Read on to find out what it is.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in the City of Tonawanda.
What is your current position?
Titles "Problems" Specialist — in my role, I spend my day resolving issues with the title documents that come in from sellers, which could be missing signatures, have incorrect miles on the title or reassignment form, or is missing a document. Here at ACV, we pride ourselves on providing our buyers on complete and correct paperwork so they can quickly sell to their customers.
What do you enjoy about working at ACV?
I LOVE the culture here! From day one, my fellow coworkers welcomed me and were right there to answer any questions I had. I also love how management and the founders truly want their employees’ input on how to make things better. It really feels like a family here!
What was your journey to joining the automotive industry?
I was 21, I had my first "real" job working for Amherst Chevrolet selling cars. Through the years, I have owned many cars, so I had experience registering vehicles. I also sold auto insurance at Geico.
What work were you doing prior to ACV Auctions?
I was hired at my last job as a Titles Customer Service Representative who serviced Nationwide Bank. My team was in charge of reaching out to customers to acquire any missing documentation needed to place Nationwide Bank as the lien holder. I was quickly promoted to Trainer for the Titles Customer Service team, where I had to create the training material for the new hires, teach them how to use our systems, and train them how to overcome the obstacles of acquiring the required documents.
What’s your dream car?
Cadillac Escalade with a Pearl White exterior.
What are some things you do outside of work?
When I am not working I LOVE spending time with the Bacon Bits a.k.a. my kids. Together, we are #TeamBaconBits! In reality, I like to do whatever they want to do, hahaha!
I also enjoy drawing, which I recently just got back into thanks to the Facebook group "Sweet Buffalo Rocks." I got into it because of my kids. It is where you draw and paint on rocks and hide them for other people to find.
What’s an interesting fact that most people don’t know about you?
Hmm, something that you would never tell by looking at me is that I can braid hair, and I am good at it! (Pictures available upon request, hahaha!) I can get fancy with it too!
