ACV Verify is a free app for vehicle sellers that makes pickup verification fast and secure. When a carrier arrives to pick up a vehicle with an ACV release slip, use ACV Verify to scan the QR code on their release slip and confirm the pickup is authorized.
1. Download the ACV Verify app from the App Store or Google Play
2. Complete quick app setup: Enter your name, email, and phone number to receive a text message verifying your identity. This step only needs to be completed once during initial setup.
1. Open the ACV Verify app on your phone.
2. When the carrier arrives for pickup, ask them to show their release slip.
3. Tap Scan QR Code and point your camera at the QR code on the slip.
4. The app will instantly show you whether or not the release is authorized.
Valid Pickup
The QR code is legitimate and the release is authorized by ACV. You can proceed with the pickup.
Unverified / Invalid Slip
The QR code did not match an authorized ACV order. Do not release the vehicle. Contact ACV support immediately at 716-923-7923.
Do I need an account to use ACV Verify?
Answer: No. ACV Verify does not require a login or account. Any seller can scan a release slip instantly.
What should I do if a scan shows "unverified" or "invalid"?
Answer: Do not release the vehicle. Call ACV support immediately to report the incident at 716-923-7923.
The QR code won't scan. What do I do?
Answer: Please try the following steps first:
- Make sure your camera has a clear, unobstructed view of the QR code.
- Try moving closer to or further away from the slip.
- Ensure the release slip is flat and well-lit.
- If the issue persists, please contact ACV support.
Is my personal information stored when I scan?

Will I be able to see the previous vehicle releases I've verified with the app?
Answer: Yes, after scanning the QR code for a valid slip you will receive a text message which contains the vehicle's VIN for your reference.
I'm a carrier–do I need to download the app?
Answer: No, carriers do not need to download or use ACV Verify. Simply present your physical release slip to the seller at pickup.
