So what van trends are making their way across the auto industry?

Van Life

Those looking to live a more modest, simple, flexible, and adventurous life are converting vans into living arrangements. When choosing nomadic real estate, buyers often consider what’s best for navigating the city, highway, and off-road locations with ease.
Those partaking in van life are buying camper vans or sprucing up other types of large vans to accommodate their lifestyle goals. Van-life digs include Sprinter Vans, Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster, and cargo vans like the Chevy G Series.1

Market Shortages

The automotive industry saw microchip and semiconductor shortages and supply chain issues during the pandemic that halted production across the board. Full-size vans took a hit in sales. Chevy Express saw a dip of 47.5%. And the Ram ProMaster experienced a decrease in sales of 14% between Q1 of 2021 and Q1 of 2022.2 However, Ford saw increases in sales in their electric vehicles, including the E-Transit cargo van, of 139% YOY in April of 2022.3
