Auction Block / Lane

What is Auction Block / Lane?

The auction block, or auction lane, is the area either physical or online where vehicles are driven through or presented one at a time for competitive bidding. At physical auctions multiple lanes operate simultaneously, each with its own auctioneer and sequence of vehicles. Buyers register for specific lanes based on the inventory running that day. In online auctions, the block refers to the live bidding interface where a vehicle is actively up for sale.

Why Auction Block / Lane Matters

Whether you're bidding in person or online, doing your homework before the auction starts is what separates disciplined buyers from reactive ones. Reviewing available inventory in advance and setting a firm maximum bid are habits that hold up regardless of the format.
