A Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) runs exclusively on electricity stored in a rechargeable battery. BEVs have no internal combustion engine, no fuel tank, and produce zero direct emissions. They charge via a standard outlet, Level 2 charger, or DC fast charger.

BEVs introduce unique appraisal and reconditioning considerations. Battery health, charging compatibility, open recalls, and software update history all affect ACV and retail pricing. Dealers who develop EV-specific inspection processes are better positioned to price and sell these units accurately.
