Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV)

What is Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV)?

A Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) combines a traditional combustion engine with a rechargeable battery charged via an external power source. PHEVs operate on electricity alone for a limited range, then switch to gasoline for longer distances.

Why Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) Matters

PHEVs require dealers to understand both EV and ICE appraisal factors. Battery health, electric range, and charging compatibility all affect value alongside traditional mechanical condition. PHEVs may also qualify for federal and state tax incentives, which can be a relevant selling point in the retail presentation.
