
Chief Technology Officer
Ross joined ACV Auctions as Vice President of Engineering in 2025, bringing decades of leadership experience to guide the company's engineering teams and technology strategy. He specializes in technical and process transformation and is a versatile internet executive and technologist.
Prior to joining ACV, Ross served as Chief Technology Officer at TCGplayer, where he led the entire Technology division through a significant technical transformation alongside enormous business growth. He was also a key leader during TCGplayer's acquisition by eBay in 2022, managing the subsequent technical integration. Before TCGplayer, Ross spent nearly two decades at Synacor (formerly Chek.com), holding multiple leadership roles including Vice President of Engineering, Chief Architect, and CTO, helping build the company from an early startup through its IPO in 2012. Ross began his career in 1994 as an early "webmaster" and freelance developer, working with several early dot-coms and on the University at Buffalo's campuswide information system.
Ross holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University at Buffalo, where his studies focused on computational theory, early AI, computer vision, and electrical engineering. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids.
