Ferrari: Brand Value and Models That Move

Ferrari and its famous prancing horse logo need no introduction. The Italian automaker maintains one of the strongest brands of any company in the world and has done so by being meticulous and exclusive with its products.

About Ferrari

We are the competition

The roots of Ferrari can be traced back to 1929 with the creation of Scuderia Ferrari by Enzo Ferrari. Initially having no desire to build road cars, Ferrari acted as a successful racing team for Alfa Romeo. Ferrari left the team in 1939 and created the race car company Auto Avio Costruzioni (as he could not use the “Ferrari” name for four years).

Eventually, Ferrari would produce handfuls of roadgoing cars to help finance the racing side of the company. In 1947 the first Ferrari-badged vehicle was built, the 125 S. By the start of the 1950s, Ferrari was producing some of the most desirable Grand Tourers and sports cars.

Highly successful in its racing endeavors, Ferrari could constantly increase the performance of its road-going cars with the lessons it learned from its race cars. Along with its unparalleled performance and craftsmanship, Ferrari has maintained a controlled buying process that has enhanced its exclusivity and desirability for many.

Ferrari at Online Auctions: Most Popular Ferraris

Every Ferrari model can be said to be popular. Finding a car at a Ferrari auction that is undesirable can be considered an impossible task in itself. If it bares the famous yellow logo, you can trust that there is a line of people ready and willing to grab it. Still, some models might be more desirable than others. Below we have made a list of models you should be looking for at Ferrari online auctions.

Ferrari 812 Superfast

Ferrari 812 Superfast

As Ferrari’s most powerful non-hypercar model, the 812 Superfast indeed lives up to its name. Introduced in 2017, the Superfast carries a massive 6.5L V12 engine under the hood. As the most powerful naturally aspirated engine put in a production car, the V12 produces an eyewatering 788 horsepower and 529 lb-ft of torque. As the brand’s last vehicle with a naturally-aspirated V12, the 812 Superfast will undoubtedly be a popular choice for any Ferrari or performance engine enthusiast in the future.

Ferrari Roma

Ferrari Roma

One of Ferrari’s newest models, the Roma, made its debut in 2020. Featuring a beautiful exterior design that evokes the curves of Ferraris from the 50s and 60s, the Roma is a wonderful grand touring car. While it may be more plush than some of its siblings, the Roma still carries a more than powerful enough 3.9L turbocharged V8 that creates 612 hp and 561 lb-ft. Connected to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, the Roma can hit 60 mph in just about 3.1 seconds.

Ferrari Portofino

Ferrari Portofino

The Portofino occupies Ferrari’s “entry-level” offerings, but it's anything but. Featuring the same great attention to detail in its design and engine, the Portofino can be just as good as any of its more expensive siblings, making it a potentially excellent deal when looking through Ferrari auctions. The hardtop convertible finds a great balance between daily driving comfort and high-performance spirited driving. The 3.9L V8 making over 600 horsepower, is comfortable on the track but can be subdued enough that it's not cumbersome and grating to drive in city traffic.

Ferrari F8

Ferrari F8

Introduced in 2019, the Ferrari F8 occupies the mid-tier of Ferrari’s hierarchy of supercars. While offered as a coupe, the F8 can also be had as a roadster to better appreciate the 3.9L turbocharged V8 found behind the cockpit. Producing 710 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque, the F8 is absolutely no slouch, even if it doesn’t occupy Ferrari’s flagship position. With a seven-speed transmission sending all this power to the rear wheels, the F8 can hit 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds.

Ferrari Roma
