With new car manufacturing backed up, dealerships need to invest in quality used or certified pre-owned inventory. But keeping a car on the lot for a long period of time is expensive. So what are some of the fastest-selling used vehicles in 2022?

iSeeCars1 studied used car sales in March 2022 to answer that question. They included model years from 2016 to 2020.

The used car trends they found align with what experts have been saying all year. With the hike in gas prices, car buyers are turning to fuel-efficient vehicles. In the top ten fastest-selling used cars, there was only one gas vehicle. The rest were hybrids or fully electric. In fact, four of the top ten were Teslas. Hydrogen cars are also worth keeping an eye on as hydrogen fuel cell technology continues to develop. But for now, there are still several barriers preventing them from being a feasible option.

So hop in and let’s cruise through the top ten fastest-selling used cars in March 2022. This way you can buy used cars online and start stocking.

While the fastest-selling used car model can fluctuate on a monthly basis, the trends remain. It’s clear that used hybrid or electric vehicles are in high demand and it’s as important as ever to source cars with great resale value. Between rising gas prices and new car prices, consumers are turning to used alternative-fuel vehicles. These are more affordable than their new counterparts, while still being efficient.
