BUFFALO, N.Y. – ACV Auctions, the leading dealer-to-dealer, online wholesale automotive marketplace, announced Thursday that it has developed a new technology that will allow all dealers on the ACV platform to clearly hear engine sounds of vehicles they are considering buying. The advanced technology, which is part of ACV’s detailed conditioning reports, continues to make ACV the trusted and transparent marketplace for dealers looking to buy and sell wholesale vehicles.

ACV will showcase the ACV AMP (Audio Motor Profile) technology at the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Show Jan. 24-27 in San Francisco at booth 7535W and at the ACV Pit Stop, located at Fourth and Howard Street, at 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

“Our team continues to develop game-changing technologies in the digital auction space,” said CEO George Chamoun. “ACV AMP is another example of our commitment to listening to what our dealers want to see and hear when buying wholesale vehicles, and delivering the next-generation auction experience.”

Developed by the ACV technology team, ACV AMP allows for the clear recording and immediate sharing of a vehicle’s engine sound. The patent-pending custom hardware and software gives buyers the ability to listen to the vehicle running in a better way than physically standing next to the vehicle. Direct audio access adds another layer to the transparency ACV strives to provide for buyers as they assess a vehicle’s condition.

“The high-definition output of ACV AMP is better than physically being next to a vehicle, and combined with our existing condition report gives the buyer unparalleled transparency,” said chief technology officer Dan Magnuszewski.

AMP recordings will come standard with all ACV vehicle condition reports and will begin rolling out in late February.
