The arbitration window is the time a buyer has to submit an arbitration claim.
Standard arbitration window
The standard arbitration window gives the buyer ten calendar days from the sale date to submit a claim. The sale date is the day the seller accepts the bid; it counts as day one.
ACV Transport
If the buyer purchases ACV Transport within 24 hours of winning the auction, they have at least four calendar days after delivery to submit a claim. The window is the later of the standard window and four calendar days after delivery. If the four-day window applies, the day of delivery counts as day one.
If the buyer purchases ACV Transport more than 24 hours after winning the auction, or not at all, the standard window applies.
Extensions
The buyer can purchase Extended Assurance or Purchase Protection on eligible vehicles to extend the arbitration window. With Extended Assurance, the buyer chooses either 10 or 20 extra days. Purchase Protection always includes 10 extra days. The buyer cannot purchase both.
We add the extension to the end of whichever window applies.
