Seller Vehicle Release Procedures

Overview

Sellers on ACV must follow the procedures below when facilitating vehicle pickup from their location. Compliance with these procedures, including use of ACV’s proprietary QR protocol, are extremely important in order to protect yourself and the purchaser of your vehicle from falling victim to theft.

Procedures

• Review the release slip presented by the carrier and confirm that the information is correct.
• Scan the QR code at the bottom of the page ONLY when the transporter is present. 
• Confirm the secret phrase sent via SMS matches the one on your bill of sale before releasing the vehicle to the transporter. 

It’s an industry best practice to retain the carrier’s DOT number and any other evidence from the pickup for your records.
