Understanding Buyer Fees

The fee is added to the winning bid amount and is shown clearly at checkout before you confirm payment. Fee amounts vary based on the transaction price and the type of auction event.

How buyer fees work

  • The buyer fee is calculated as a percentage of or a flat rate on the vehicle’s sale price, depending on the fee schedule tier.
  • The full fee schedule can be found under MyACV > Fee Schedule.
  • Fees are shown at checkout before you complete the transaction, so you can review the total cost before confirming.

Event-specific fees

Some Featured Seller Events have their own buy fee structure. For example, certain fleet sellers or manufacturer-sponsored events may have a flat buy fee (such as $100 per vehicle) rather than the standard percentage-based fee. These event-specific fees are disclosed on the auction listing and at checkout.

Payment methods

ACV accepts ACH bank transfers and most major floor-plan financing at checkout. The buyer fee is included in the total amount charged through your selected payment method.

Troubleshooting

You want to review the fee before bidding. You can always check the current fee schedule at this link. The fee also appears at checkout before you confirm payment, so there are no surprises after you win.

Your fee looks higher than expected. Contact ACV support to review the fee applied to your transaction. Reference your auction number when you call.
