How In Negotiation Auctions Work on ACV

When an auction ends without a sale, the vehicle may enter the “In Negotiation” phase. This guide explains what an In Negotiation auction is, how it works, and what you can expect to see when viewing these listings on ACV.

Understanding In Negotiation Auctions

  • These listings appear after the auction has ended but before a final sale has been confirmed. These Listings typically have offers placed on them but there isn’t an agreed upon price between the buyer and seller.
  • The ACV If-Bid team works directly with the buyer and seller to reach an agreed-upon price.
  • All ACV customers can still view these listings during the negotiation period.

Viewing a Vehicle in Negotiation

  • Click on “Ended Auctions” on the left sided panel
  • Click on “In Negotiations”
  • Click on the Listing You are Interested in
  • The listing will show:
    • The current highest bid
    • The seller’s reserve price (select listings)
    • A note that the sale is still under negotiation “Pending”

Note: A vehicle listed as “In Negotiation” does not guarantee it will be sold. It simply means a post-auction offer is under review.
